On or about August 11, 2022, at approximately ten O’Clock pm James P. and his wife, Angela were driving on a road in Independence, Missouri near a wooded area when they were shocked to see a seven- to nine-foot-tall Sasquatch cross the road in front of them.
“We had been
visiting friends and were on our way home when we saw the Bigfoot. The creature
crossed the entire road in just three huge steps, which is something a human being could not do,” said Angela. “We stopped the car and just watched in utter
amazement.”
The two witnesses
estimated the height of the creature to be between seven and nine feet, with a
massive chest and arms. It was all black, but it was dark out so they couldn’t
say what the exact color of the creature was. It just kept looking straight ahead
and did not turn to look at the vehicle.
The
Sasquatch then disappeared into the woods.
There have
been other sightings in the area going back to the 1970’s when people reported
seeing bigfoot and hearing strange calls and yells at Monkey Mountain, east of Blue
Springs. The calls were recorded and later analyzed by Scott Nelson, who said that
the calls could not be identified as any human or known animal.
In more recent years the sightings have been centered around the Missouri River (see map).

On June 7, 2020 a man in Kansas City saw and heard a Bigfoot near his house on 79th St. and 71 Highway in KC MO. It threw rocks, growled, and snorted. This happened on or about June 7. It was after dark, but the witness could see the creature standing behind a tree, and it kept peeking around the tree. The back yard is wooded but this is in a suburban area.
The witness was outside in his back yard when a rock came flying by, almost hitting him but it hit the side of the house instead. He turned to see where the rock had come from, and he heard a snort coming from a wooded area behind his house. He was astonished to see an eight-foot-tall Bigfoot standing next to and partially behind a large tree. The creature growled and threw another rock. The witness said that the creature had large shoulders and a large conical shaped head. The witness immediately went back inside his house and did not go back outside until the next morning.
Note: This area is known for unusual events, Mothman and UFO sightings, but to my knowledge it is the first time a Bigfoot has been reported.
The same witness reported a sighting of a winged humanoid just a short distance away from this site. Nearby is Swope Park which is a heavily wooded area, and the Little Blue River.
There is certainly good habitat in the area for any type of animal to survive. As you can see in the map, the area has multiple water sources and heavily wooded areas.

Missouri MUFON received 60 UAP/UFO sighting reports in the past 90 days. The sightings are centered around the greater Kansas City area; however, UFOs have been tracked across the state.
In the early morning hours on August 10, 2022, multiple witnesses from six locations saw what appears to be the same object. It was described as massive in size, a grey metallic color, with two rows of windows on the side which were lit from within. There were no exterior lights on the objects, and they made no sound. All of these sightings occurred between 5:00 am and 5:30 am. Investigators determined the length of the object to be approximately 1/4 mile. Some of the sightings were found to be Starlink, however, two were very close to the witnesses, blocking out stars.
