ls Meramec State Park Haunted by Spirits Past?

Meramec State Park is a beautiful area in Franklin County Missouri. It's about 60 miles southwest of St. Louis off Highway 44 near Sullivan Missouri. The Meramec River flows beautifully through this magnificent, forested area and provides everything for people from fishing and floating to just being able to sit and enjoy the lovely views. The bluffs along some stretches of the river have a lot of limestone. I mention this because limestone seems to be connected to some of paranormal cases.

The Park has about 11 cabins that were built during the Great Depression in the 1930's. President Franklin Roosevelt established the CCC, the Civilian Conservation Corp, to create jobs to help people get back to work.  During this time, a lot of young men were hired to build structures in state and national parks, and then they also lived in these cabins. Today, these dwellings can be rented by the public. There's no Wi-fi, TV, radio etc. These awesome cabins are fully furnished with not just furniture, but linens, appliances, etc.....just like home.   

It's known, by some of us, that this area has had and can still have unexplained things occur. While enjoying our "cabining" experiences (we don't go "camping", but we do go "cabining"), we've had paranormal experiences in a couple of the cabins. In 2014, my husband, my brother, his wife and I were staying in one of these homes away from home when this incident happened.  

 There are times when out of the blue something in my head says, "Take a picture of this."  When I listen to that inner voice, I usually end up with pictures that create questions, but have no answers.

The 'voice' I heard this one particular day, told me to take a picture of the cabin's kitchen door. That's a strange subject for a picture, but I did what my little voice told me to do.  When I looked at the picture on my camera, it had turned out very blurry (picture 1). To see if I had a problem with my camera, while standing in the same spot I turned to the right and took a picture of flowers that were on the kitchen table (picture 2). This picture, as you can see, came out perfectly clear.

I then turned back to the door, took another picture and THAT picture came out blurry like the first picture did (picture 3).

My sister-in-law was in the living room, and I called her over and showed her what was happening on the pictures. While we were standing there discussing this odd occurrence, at the same time we both sort of shivered, looked at each other and said "WHOA!"  We had been startled by a very cold breeze that had gone THROUGH both of us!  At the same time, we both blurted out "did you feel that?".  Laughing and sort of in shock, we couldn't believe what had just happened.

After that happened, I decided, for whatever reason, to take another picture of the door. That picture came out nice and clear as you can see in picture 4. 

Other experiences while staying in cabins:

• We've heard, faintly, a radio playing old songs from the 30's/40's. 

• Another time, three of us were in the living room having a conversation.  We were interrupted when we heard moans coming from an empty corner of the room.  
  
  
• We woke up one morning and walked into the living room area and saw small, bare footprints in a row on the cushion of the futon. It looked like maybe a child had walked on it. No children were with us. I don't understand or try to explain what happened at those times, but they were great paranormal experiences.

I had been aggravated for several months by noise from a neighbor. On October 14, 2020, a boisterous backyard gathering dispersed shortly after 10 p.m. but my anxiety kept me awake until about 4 a.m.

At approximately 5:15 a.m. I was awakened by a light. To my left, what had been a shuttered window was now a blank wall softly lit with a slight yellowish tinge, as if illuminated by candlelight. Then, near the top of the wall, appeared the living head of a monster, like a cathedral gargoyle. The beastly head was replaced by another after a couple of seconds, then followed by another. This happened five or six times. One head had glowing eyes. Another appeared to be a cross between a man and a lion. Then the heads disappeared.

I turned to my right to turn on a light and make notes. When I looked back, the shuttered windows had returned.

While this vision might be related to my anxiety, this seemed to be a spectacular display for something as mundane as a noisy neighbor. Perhaps the event released demons from my subconscious. Did I purge beasts from my mind only to release them into the world? I looked up gargoyles on Wikipedia. One section noted “gargoyles are said to protect what they guard, such as a church, from any evil or harmful spirits” but another passage said, “The primary use of the gargoyle was to illustrate evil through the form of the gargoyle.”

One could argue that extreme stress had altered my brain chemistry so as to create an illusion, but since I had fallen asleep before the vision, I would think my brain would have returned to a more balanced state during the sleep period.

Two days after the vision, after another noisy and sleepless night, I went to the ER to request some sleep meds. I described my "hallucination." They took a blood panel (which came up fine), prescribed some sleep meds but did not take x-rays. The discharge nurse, after asking a few questions to determine my mental stability, suggested that I might be a shaman.

A few days later, I had a phone consultation with my internist, and he also did not suggest a brain scan. Fortunately, the next several days were peaceful and I slept much better, both with and without the pills.

After a few weeks, the neighbor moved away, and the new neighbor was much quieter.

This was not my first experience with a specter on the wall. On February 9, 2005. I was asleep in a different room in my house. I was awakened at about 2:15 a.m. by a bright light emanating from a clock on a dresser near the foot of my bed. To my right, next to the closet door, a portion of the wall glowed like a torch-lit cave. Stick figures on the wall bounced against each other, like men in hand-to-hand combat. 

To my left hung a Patrick Nagel serigraph depicting a larger-than-life head of a woman wearing sunglasses who had a stark white face and gray hair. I had purchased the print in 1985. But at this moment, the picture was solid black and bulging from the wall. To break this spell, I reached up and switched on the room light. The vision disappeared. I concluded that the dark power of the Nagel “goddess” was inciting the wall warriors to fight each other.

Recent Bigfoot Sighting in Independence, Missouri

 

On or about August 11, 2022, at approximately ten O’Clock pm James P. and his wife, Angela were driving on a road in Independence, Missouri near a wooded area when they were shocked to see a seven- to nine-foot-tall Sasquatch cross the road in front of them.

“We had been visiting friends and were on our way home when we saw the Bigfoot. The creature crossed the entire road in just three huge steps, which is something a human being could not do,” said Angela. “We stopped the car and just watched in utter amazement.”

The two witnesses estimated the height of the creature to be between seven and nine feet, with a massive chest and arms. It was all black, but it was dark out so they couldn’t say what the exact color of the creature was. It just kept looking straight ahead and did not turn to look at the vehicle.

The Sasquatch then disappeared into the woods.

There have been other sightings in the area going back to the 1970’s when people reported seeing bigfoot and hearing strange calls and yells at Monkey Mountain, east of Blue Springs. The calls were recorded and later analyzed by Scott Nelson, who said that the calls could not be identified as any human or known animal.

In more recent years the sightings have been centered around the Missouri River (see map). 

Sasquatch sightings in the greater Kansas City area

On June 7, 2020 a man in Kansas City saw and heard a Bigfoot near his house on 79th St. and 71 Highway in KC MO. It threw rocks, growled, and snorted. This happened on or about June 7. It was after dark, but the witness could see the creature standing behind a tree, and it kept peeking around the tree. The back yard is wooded but this is in a suburban area.

The witness was outside in his back yard when a rock came flying by, almost hitting him but it hit the side of the house instead. He turned to see where the rock had come from, and he heard a snort coming from a wooded area behind his house. He was astonished to see an eight-foot-tall Bigfoot standing next to and partially behind a large tree. The creature growled and threw another rock. The witness said that the creature had large shoulders and a large conical shaped head. The witness immediately went back inside his house and did not go back outside until the next morning.

Note: This area is known for unusual events, Mothman and UFO sightings, but to my knowledge it is the first time a Bigfoot has been reported.

The same witness reported a sighting of a winged humanoid just a short distance away from this site. Nearby is Swope Park which is a heavily wooded area, and the Little Blue River.

There is certainly good habitat in the area for any type of animal to survive. As you can see in the map, the area has multiple water sources and heavily wooded areas.

A Bizarre UFO Flap is going on in Missouri

Missouri MUFON received 60 UAP/UFO sighting reports in the past 90 days. The sightings are centered around the greater Kansas City area; however, UFOs have been tracked across the state. 

In the early morning hours on August 10, 2022, multiple witnesses from six locations saw what appears to be the same object. It was described as massive in size, a grey metallic color, with two rows of windows on the side which were lit from within. There were no exterior lights on the objects, and they made no sound. All of these sightings occurred between 5:00 am and 5:30 am. Investigators determined the length of the object to be approximately 1/4 mile. Some of the sightings were found to be Starlink, however, two were very close to the witnesses, blocking out stars.  

August 10, 2022 sightings

Throughout the later part of July, all of August and now into September, there were multiple UFO sightings of strange craft. In two instances, witnesses described seeing a dark triangle on top of a half-circle. It was seen during the day and hovered before shooting straight up and out of sight. One witness said that the clock on his truck malfunctioned during a sighting but went back to normal once the object was gone. Witnesses in Odessa see balls of light bouncing about their trees. 

There also seems to be a pattern following major metro areas, waterways, and highways. Reports have come in every day in September as well. Witnesses describe seeing large balls of light, satellites that stop or turn at a 90-degree angle without slowing down, triangular craft, saucer-shaped craft, among others. Missouri MUFON State Director Debbie Ziegelmeyer said that the number of reported sightings have increased greatly as of late. "We don't know what is going on, or why this is happening now," she said.

Massive Unidentified Aerial Object Spotted Over Multiple Missouri Locations

 

Missouri MUFON reports that multiple witnesses observed the same large unidentified aerial object from four separate locations in Missouri including near KCI Airport, Smithville, Richmond, and Cameron in the early morning hours of August 10, 2022. It is estimated that the size of the object was 1/4 mile wide.

1.  A husband and wife in Smithville, Missouri saw a very large disk-shaped craft with rectangular windows on the side at 5:00 am on the morning of August 10. It approached from the south, then turned east. It was low in the sky and estimated to be at least 300 feet in length. The craft moved slowly and did not change its speed. The two witnesses said that there was no sound, no wings or tail, no exterior lights, and no emissions. They wondered how something that large could keep airborne, especially at the slow speed it traveled.

“The strangest thing is that there was this weird fog on the ends of the object, partially obscuring the craft,” said one witness. “I’m actually having a difficult time dealing with what I saw.”

2.  At 5:12 am Josh Fetters saw something in the sky on the same morning, on his way to work. He said "I was able to get a somewhat blurry photo of it, as well as a blurry video. For some reason my camera wouldn’t focus on the object very well. I was traveling on 435 S toward Kansas City, you come around a curve right before Cookingham Rd exit and there is a water tower on the left side of the highway. I pulled over right by the water tower (you can see it in my photo, I used this as a reference point). The object was traveling very slow. I saw it for about 1 minute and I lost it behind some clouds. At this point, I had to continue my trip to work."

3.  At 5:15 am a man in Richmond, Missouri went out on his back porch and saw a very large, long, thin cigar shaped object that was a grey metallic color with vents on the side move very slowly across the sky. It had no lights. He watched it go from North to South for approximately 1 minute, then lost sight of it. 

4.  At 5:13 am a man in Blue Springs, Missouri saw a long thin grey object moving slowly across the sky heading east. 

5.  At 5:20 am a truck driver in Cameron, Missouri spotted what appears to be the same object, which he described as being extremely large, having rectangular windows lit from the inside with no exterior lights. Notably, the object was not obscured by fog. “It was at least the size of three football fields and flying so low and slow, that I couldn’t understand how it was flying,” said the witness.

A group of workers in Cameron also saw the object and posted it on social media. 

More witnesses have come forward, but we don't have the details yet.

Missouri MUFON field investigators Margie Kay, Jean Walker and James Bair calculated that the object was only moving at approximately 90 MPH or less. They are working on this case, which is still under investigation. They ask that anyone who may have seen the same or a similar object come forward with a report to www.mufon.com. An investigator will be assigned to the case.

This is an ongoing investigation, and we will post new information as we receive it.

Did an other-worldly spacecraft protect us from a recent solar flare?

On June 2, 2022 a strange object situated itself next to our sun and appeared to deflect a large solar flare that was headed directly towards Earth. In the image from LASCO C2 (Large Angle and Spectrometric Coronagraph) on board the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory satellite (SOHO) you can see this unknown object and the solar flare, which is partially blocked by an unknown object.

Solar flares normally shoot directly out into space in their entirety, but this flare is blocked by something in front of it. That something was very large, and it appears to have protected us from the flare. Solar flares can cause havoc for us on Earth such as cell phone disruptions, electrical interference, and even if large enough, extinction level events. If this was another intelligence helping us out, we owe them thanks. They may have saved us from disastrous consequences.

From the soho website: “The Sun is not just a big bright ball. It has a complicated and changing magnetic field, which forms things like sunspots and active regions. The magnetic field sometimes changes explosively, spitting out clouds of plasma and energetic particles into space and sometimes even towards Earth. The solar magnetic field changes on an 11-year cycle. Every solar cycle, the number of sunspots, flares, and solar storms increases to a peak, which is known as the solar maximum. Then, after a few years of high activity, the Sun will ramp down to a few years of low activity, known as the solar minimum. This pattern is called the "sunspot cycle", the "solar cycle", or the "activity cycle".

Stars like the Sun shine for nine to ten billion years. The Sun is about 4.5 billion years old, judging by the age of moon rocks. Based on this information, current astrophysical theory predicts that the Sun will become a red giant in about five billion (5,000,000,000) years.”

According to NASA.gov, the Sun is stirring from its latest slumber and sunspots and flares are increasing.

Rabbit Mutilation in Nevada

 

Lianne Beyer of Reno, Nevada reported a strange event on August 20, 2022 which occurred on her property.

“Today we found this rabbit dead and beheaded (25 ft from our back door) behind our home on our golf course. No animal or human tracks AT ALL were seen around the animal and little to no blood on the fur or ground around the animal. It is so strangely placed as well. I wanted to share some pictures and video with you in the hopes of someone reaching out to us as it so fresh and bizarre. It rained here heavily the last two days, and it is like it was perfectly placed down without tracks on the soft dirt. The footprints you see are of me and my daughter looking at it. I am not usually a believer in the paranormal, but this has us completely freaked out. It reminds me so much of one of the strange animal mutilations that has occurred around the world but a smaller animal. As a side note we have tons of coyotes in our area, and this would have been immediately scavenged in my opinion, but nothing has touched it. Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.”

The rabbit head was place behind the body. Lianne and her husband did not touch the body or head. Three days later the head and body were missing, but no tracks could be found in the soft dirt, even though it had recently rained.

Lianne and her husband are completely baffled, and so am I. I’ve investigated multiple animal mutilations, but none like this. A predator surely would have eaten the rabbit rather than taking its head off and leaving it. And the fact that there was no blood on the ground is eerily similar to what occurs with large animal mutilations that remain unexplained.

UFO Rises from the Lake of the Ozarks

A military veteran who wishes to remain anonymous reports that he was at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri near Sunrise Beach one late evening in the summer of 1993 when he and a friend noticed lights under the water in the lake. The lights were white around the perimeter of a round object, which seemed to come up from deeper in the lake. 

Next, the object rose up above the water and they could see that it was a silver saucer shaped craft with white lights on the exterior and one red light on the bottom. It hovered just above the water for approximately 10 seconds then slowly rose higher to approximately 200 feet and stopped for about three seconds, then suddenly shot up to a higher altitude at an estimated 5,000 feet and instantly shot off at an extremely high rate of speed to the east and out of sight. The men stood there, silently watching in awe and could not believe what they just saw. 

The witness said, "I was around planes every day when I served in the military in Vietnam and I can tell you for certain that it was not one of ours. Nothing we had then and nothing we have now could possibly do what we saw on that night." The witness stated that he heard about pilots seeing strange things while he served in Vietnam but he never saw anything himself until this incident. "That convinced me that we are not alone on this planet, and something is going on at the Lake of the Ozarks," he said. 

There have been many reports of unidentified flying objects and USOs (unidentified submerged objects) at lakes in Missouri including Blue Springs Lake, Truman Lake (which is now the largest lake in Missouri) Lake Jacomo, Clearwater Lake, Lake St. Louis, and the Lake of the Ozarks. Investigators speculate that there may be underwater UFO bases in Missouri and elsewhere.  

The Lake of the Ozarks was formed in 1931 when Bagnell Dam was built. At the time, it was the largest man-made lake in the world. At its greatest depth, the Lake of the Ozarks is 130 feet deep, and it spans 92 miles from one end to the other, with plenty of room for an underwater UFO base.

Large Panther-like Cat Morphs into a House Cat

On August 6, 2022 while in Cape Girardeau, Missouri for a conference at the Drury Inn Hotel and Conference Center, Debbie Ziegelmeyer and I saw a very large black cat which was too big to be a house cat. It was about the size of a large bobcat and it had a head like a panther. I even thought it might have been a juvenile panther. We were driving into the parking lot of the hotel after going to a party hosted by the conference promoters, and no one else was around at the time. It was approximately 11:30 pm. 

The creature walked very strangely, especially with its back legs which seemed more mechanical. It walked slowly and deliberately and did not seem to be afraid of my vehicle. Neither of us could figure out what we were looking at, and thought that it was extremely bizarre.

We drove closer to get a better look at it as it walked across the lot, and it then morphed into a regular house cat and got smaller. Debbie said "What the heck is going on?" I wsh I had gotten a photo, but this photo of a black panther is the closest thing to what we saw, only much smaller. We both saw it change into a smaller regular size house cat, so this indicates that something supernatural was going on.

Note: According to the Missouri Department of Conservation there are not supposed to be any black panthers in Missouri.

Mothman Shadows in Missouri

Recently, a friend asked me if there had been any Mothman sightings in Missouri as of late, and I told her that it had been unusually quiet. I spoke too soon, because a few days later two separate incidences occurred, and one was my own. 

Incident #1: I spoke with Tony Degn this past weekend. Tony is a paranormal, Mothman, and UFO experiencer, and has had many encounters with strange phenomena. I wrote about his Mothman encounters in my book "Winged Aliens." Tony told me that while he was driving on a highway in Branson, Missouri in July, 2022, he saw a huge shadow of what he identified as a Mothman, fly across the highway in front of him in broad daylight. Tony said that the shadow of the outstretched wings measured the width of the highway across two lanes in front of him. He attempted to look out the windshield of his vehicle but could see nothing. Tony just chalked this up as him being followed by this creature yet again. It seems to follow him no matter where he is.

Incident #2: On Thursday, August 4, 2022 fellow investigator Jean Walker and I headed from Kansas City to Cape Girardeau, Missouri where I spoke at a conference. It should be noted that Jean and I often have very strange things happen when we are together, and we discuss this in our presentation "Two Women and a Map," which we plan to put into a book. 

As I drove my SUV on I-70 highway, halfway between Columbia and St. Louis, my cruise control suddenly caused the vehicle to speed up very quickly. It got to ninety-five miles per hour before I could step on the brake to slow down. Just at that moment, Jean saw a huge shadow of a winged creature which took up half of our lane plus the shoulder all the way to the grass. That distance is approximately 10 - 15 feet. Keep in mind that this was in daylight. Jean tried to see what it was but could see nothing, but she was also concerned about the vehicle. As the vehicle slowed it began to shake violently and the engine light came on. I immediately pulled off the nearby exit and stopped at the one and only structure at that exit, and thankfully it was a gas station. We let the car cool down and I got some gas, then started it up again and it seemed to be fine. I did not reengage the cruise control just in case. Jean pointed out that at the exact same time my SUV started acting up the shadow of the gigantic bird (or whatever it was) appeared right over the vehicle. We both thought that was extremely strange. 

We have all seen shadows of birds flying across the highway, and know what a hawk shadow looks like, but a 10' - 15' shadow is enormous in comparison. We can only guess at what these recent shadows were, but given our past history, I would say that Mothman is the top contender. If it is an inter-dimensional creature, which I suspect it is, is it possible that only its shadow appears during the day? Surely, someone else driving on either side of the road would notice such a large, winged creature and file a report somewhere! We can only hope that another traveler saw whatever made those gigantic shadows in both cases,
and even better, caught it on film. But I' not holding my breath.
