Spooklights in Independence, Missouri

Rendering of lights in Independence, MO by Margie Kay

Several areas across the United States are known for Spook lights, with the Joplin Spook Light and the Marfa Lights in Texas being the most popular, however, several lesser-known sites have consistent reports of unexplained lights, and Independence, Missouri is one of those places.

Last October, I was outside at around midnight when I noticed two dull circular lights slowly come into view across the RR tracks about 100 feet behind my house. They were in front of trees, and they were not well-defined circles, with amorphous edges and a white/blue hue. These lights did not fit into the category of house lights, flashlights or anything I am familiar with. There was no beam projecting them. After watching these objects for a few minutes they slowly began to move downward, towards the tracks, which were about 20 feet below. Then the moved down the tracks to the east and out of sight.

On June 6, 2023, the lights reappeared in nearly the same place they did previously and again at midnight. I checked the lights on houses across the tracks, and also on my side and could not find a source. I contemplated going inside to get my cell phone, but the objects would have been gone by the time I returned.

Strange phenomena have occurred on these tracks for years, including two sightings of an old-time ghost train, complete with smoke billowing out of the stack. I was lucky enough to see one of those trains, which then disappeared as if through a portal. The railroad cut and tracks were installed during the Civil War, and not a mile from this location was a Civil War battle, across the cut. At one house near the cut, the owners complain of ghostly apparitions and poltergeist activity.

Perhaps these eerie lights are spirits from a bygone era.

Mysterious UAPs Observed in Sibley, Missouri

Multiple UAPs were recently seen by several witnesses in Sibley, Missouri, East of Independence.

This occurred on the evening of June 29, 2022 while several family members were sitting outside on the patio visiting with each other. One man noticed movement in the sky, and the four men then stood up to watch the spectacle before them. The objects were white lights that appeared to be larger than planets. They moved very quickly, stopped, then darted about the sky, moving in all directions at very high rates of speed, unlike conventional aircraft. There was no sound. After several minutes, the lights disappeared.

The witnesses ruled out planes, helicopters, and drones.

Sibley is a village in Jackson County, Missouri, United States. The population was 357 at the 2010 census. It is known as the home of Fort Osage National Historic Landmark. It is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area. The town is located very close to the Missouri River, where multiple UAP sightings have been reported.

Unfortunately, no video was taken by the witnesses.

Missouri is a known UFO/UAP hotspot, and is consistently in the top 10 for UFO sightings nationwide. Investigators suspect that the rivers have something to do with the number of sightings.
